Will TikTok be banned in the U.S? The short answer, yes it appears s. Tik-tok is a short-form video app that has been one of the most popular apps for teens and with over 800 million users worldwide. It´s currently dealing with the Trump administration and may be on its way to be removed and not able to operate in the U.S. He had invoked the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) on May 15 2019, which basically lets him ban any transactions between the US and the foreign app.

After many users received the news that their favorite app may be in the process of being banned no one new what to believe or what actions will be taken. Everyone expected to wake up one morning and the app would be deleted from their device or would have major glitches. However, that didn´t happen.

The app is owned by a Chinese based company, ByteDance, that the Trump administration claims is stealing data from Americans and supplying it to the Chinese Government, especially during the upcoming elections.
