The final season comes out fall 2020.

Season 4 of Attack on Titan will be coming to fans in the fall of 2020. This will be the final season of the Hajime Isayama’s inspired anime. Shortly after the execution of season 3, there was a notification that announced the official release date of season 4.  It was stated that it would be the final season, therefore ending the stories of the main characters.  It has been confirmed by the makers of the animation that the fourth season will be publicized in the fall of 2020.  Although the original airing of the final season will begin solely in Japan, international fans and viewers will be able to enjoy the subtitled version of the animation on various websites soon after.

News of the terminal season surely made fans excited and anxious. AnimeTV released a 15-second trailer on June 30 as a method to appease the fans’ curiosity, but some would believe that it wouldn’t suffice.  Despite their being a single shot of Eren, nothing of the series’s footage was shown.  NHK has not released much detail about what will happen in this season, but fans can expect it to be intense as it will bring everything that is an enigma to a closure.  There is some debate as to whether or not the last season will explain every mystery, thus fans do wish that there will be an additional season.

Since its premiere in 2013, Attack on Titan has been a sufficient show for anime fans worldwide.  Because of inadequate source material, season 2 was unable to air until four years after the debut of season 1.  Between season 2 and 3, the wait was much shorter, but the third season required to be split into two parts with part two premiering later. During season one, Eren Jaeger’s titan powers were introduced to the audience.  The Scout Regiment then proceeded to take the risk to prove that his titan ability is useful and not a threat to mankind like the government believes.  Eren was able to demonstrate his loyalty to mankind and gain the trust of his comrades.  Season 2 was based around trying to explain how he was able to obtain this ability.  This season is where we get more into depth about the Church of the Walls, which is a sect composed of radicals who view the three walls as religious monuments.

You can watch the final season on NHK General TV network in Japan. Fans in other countries should be able to watch subtitled versions on Crunchyroll shortly after season 4 premiers.
