NFL Season Begins

Starting Thursday 9/8/18 NFL week 1 is officially kicking it off with the defending champions from last year, Philadelphia Eagles, going against the Atlanta Falcons. In Week 1 there are 4 divisional game which include the Chargers against the Chiefs, Saints against Buccaneers, The Packers against the Bears, and the last divisional game the Browns against the Steelers. All four of these games can go either way.

The Browns are a way different team from last year, they have Josh Gordon coming back, they acquired Landry and Taylor this off-season and the first pick of the 2018  Draft, Baker Mayfield. The Steelers on the other hand are missing their star running back Le’veon Bell (holdout). Other news for the beginning of the season is the return of Aaron Rodgers for the Packers while the Bears acquire Khalil Mack and make him the highest paid defensive player. Lets see if he live up to his expectations.

On the other end the New Orleans Saints taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are without their star quarterback Jameis Winston because of a 3 game suspension. The reigning NFC South divisional champs, New Orleans Saints, are without their leading rusher for the past 2 or 3 years, Mark Ingram. For the final divisional game, the Chargers will be going up against the Chiefs as the chiefs speedy star receiver Tyreek Hill and the debut of quarterback Patrick Mahomes. On the other side the chargers star quarterback Philip Rivers and their star receiver Keenan Allen will hope to play catch all afternoon, lets see how these divisional games will go.

Saquon Barkley’s debut will be  against the Jaguar’s top 5 defense. Talking about defense, we have another top 5 defense the Vikings going against Jimmy Garoppolo and the surging 49ers. The return of Andrew Luck is also happening after missing 2 years of football he’s back out their trying help the Indianapolis Colts win. They square off with the Cincinnati Bengals and their nice little trio of Andy Dalton, Giovani Bernard, and A.J Green. After a great season from the Tennessee Titans they are back with their duo of running backs in Derrick Henry and newcomer Dion Lewis. They will be taking on Ryan Tannehill and Devante Parker and also Danny Amendola when they face the Dolphins.

We also will  have the Houston Texans taking on the New England Patriots. As the Houston Texans have a nice Offense starting off with Deshaun Watson and Deandre Hopkins, coupled with their stellar defense starting off with J.J Watt, Jadeveon Clowney, and Tyrann Mathieu. However, the New England Patriots have arguable the greatest QB of all-time coming back in Tom Brady and his favorite target, tight end Rob Gronkowski.  Then we move onto the Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys. Carolina having Cam Newton, Christian Mccaffrey, and Greg Olsen on offense will try to challenge, the Dallas Cowboys and their 1,2,3 punch in quarterback Dak Prescott, running back Ezekiel Elliott, and  wide receiver Allen Hurns.

Up next we have quarterback Joe Flacco and the Ravens with the addition of Crabtree going against the Bills. The Bills will not start their first round quarterback Josh Allen and will start Nathan Peterman instead. Lets see how Peterman and Lesean Mccoy do against a usually nasty Ravens Defense. Then we move to the left coast and onto the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos starting off with Russell Wilson and Doug Baldwin and their hard hitting safety Earl Thomas from Seattle, and on the other side starting off with Case Keenum, Demaryius Thomas, and their up and comer young DE Bradley Chubb.

Moving on to Alex Smith’s debut with the Redskins going against David Johnson and the Cardinals. Lets see how how David Johnson returns to running form from last years injury. Monday night games will showcase two games in week 1.  The Jets going against the Lions and the Raiders against the Rams.  Let see how Sam Darnold’s quarterback debut goes facing Matthew Stafford and the Lion’s defense. In the second game we have the Raiders going against the Rams. The Rams are a solid running team all around while the raiders are excited to see the return of Jon Gruden.
