Ariel Ochoa (junior) lets loose a through ball to the front line.

On January 9th, 2020 the Chavez Girls Soccer Team played Bear Creek at  home. The JV team started at 4:00p.m. and the Varsity team started at 5:45p.m. the JV squad opened up the first half with a 0-2 defecit which later grew to 0-3 by the final whistle. This was the first loss of the season for Chavez’s JV team.

Meanwhile at 5:45p.m, just before the Varsity teams squared off, the Chavez girls team had an announcement. The entire team met in the middle of the field with Bear Creek players and coaches and had a moment of silence for Cesar Rangel, the father of Alexis Rangel who passed away on December 20th, 2019 from Cancer. When the game began, Bear Creek slammed the gas pedal to the floor and took off on a scoring barrage. When the dust finally settled in Chavez’s first conference game of the season, the results were a 1-4 loss for Chavez. The loan goal was scored by America Topete during the second half.
