2019 NFL Draft

2019 NFL Draft

The NFL draft is always enjoyable to watch to see the future stars of the league get drafted onto their new teams. It is always hard to predict the right pick based on what a team could be thinking, as there are many unexpected moves that happen during draft days. The following are the first 10 picks in this years draft and I am going to grade them to see if the team made the right decision on drafting that player.

1. The Arizona Cardinals – select QB Kyler Murray the Heisman trophy winner out of Oklahoma. I like Kyler Murray and I think he will be a great NFL quarterback, but the Cardinals used their first round pick on a quarterback last year and again this year. Josh Rosen did not have a great rookie year, but has the potential to be great, many people thought that the Cardinals should’ve not drafted a quarterback, but they did with Murray. The way they handled this whole situation was poorly, but Rosen would be traded later to the Miami Dolphins for their second round pick. The reason why the Cardinals drafted Murray was because its fits with new head coach Kliff Kingsbury and their new system. Overall I like the pick, I think taking Murray was the better choice and he will be the starter when it comes to week 1. Overall grade A

2. The San Francisco 49ers – select DE Nick Bosa. Bosa is one of the best pass rushers in the draft and the 49ers were lucky that the Cardinals took Murray 1st overall. Nick Bosa will fit in well with this team as the 49ers now have one of the most intriguing defensive line in the league with Dee Ford and Deforest Buckner. Overall grade A+

3. The New York Jets – select DL Quinnen Williams – Williams is also one of the best players in the draft and he will be great with the Jets. Williams is one of the best at stopping the run and Jets were almost last in that category, now the Jets have another player to pair with Leonard Williams. Overall grade A+

4. The Oakland Raiders – select DE Clelin Ferrell. Ferrell is a great player, but the Raiders kind of reached with this player. After trading away superstar pass rusher Khalil Mack they needed a new pass rusher. Ferrell was projected to go late in the 1st round and they got him at number 4 when there were other good players still left on the board. Overall grade B.

5. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers – select LB Devin White. White is one of the best linebackers in this draft and it is a very good pick for the Buccaneers. White is going to be all over the field playing against really good running backs in the division like Christian Mccaffrey, Alvin Kamara, and Devonta Freeman. Overall grade A.

6. The New York Giants – select QB Daniel Jones. This pick is just not good when there are other better quarterbacks still on the board and, you could of used this pick on something else. You would have gotten him later on in the draft. But the team needs a quarterback so its not all bad, he will sit behind Eli Manning for a couple of years. Overall grade C-.

7. The Jacksonville Jaguars – select LB Josh Allen.Allen is a huge steal for Jags for falling to them at number 7. Allen was projected to go top 5 to a team like the Raiders, but wasn’t. Allen is also one of the great pass rusher in the draft. Overall grade A+

8. The Detroit Lions – select TE T.J Hockenson. Hockenson is the best TE in the draft and he will fit in with the Lions offense. The Lions have not had a great tight end in a while and will give Stafford a target on offense. It is a good pick, but they could have traded down a couple spots and still would have gotten him, tight ends don’t usually get drafted high. Overall grade B+.

9. The Buffalo Bills – select DT Ed Oliver. Oliver is very talented player and the Bills are lucky to get him at number 9. Oliver is one of the best Defensive lineman in the draft along side Williams. The Bills finally get their player to build a defense around. Overall grade A+.

The original pick was the Denver Broncos, but it was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

10. The Pittsburgh Steelers – select LB Devin Bush. Bush also one of the great linebackers in the draft. He is a great players and he’ll be all over the field. Bush is going to be added to an already good linebacker core. Overall grade A.
