Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, The Beginning of The One Hundred Year Journey

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is seen as a game that is a prequel to the Legend of Zelda – Breath of the Wild. This is not entirely true, as the game takes a different approach to the Legend of Zelda timeline.

The game is a hack and slash game where you have to fight a lot of enemies and mini-bosses along the way throughout the story. The story mostly revolves around Zelda and Link and the 4 other champions of Hyrule, Urbosa, Daruk, Mipha, Revali, and they are all playable characters.

The game features 18 playable characters in all. The first character being Link, who is the main character you can customize and get a variety of weapons with. The first 10 minutes of the game go from the original breath of the wild timeline to a completely different timeline in the game. While the story is roughly the same, you get to the point where you realize that the game is not exactly a prequel to the story from the breath of the wild

The thing I dislike about the game is the wall jump mechanics because it’s the same button as the run button, but you have to stand next to a wall and it opens up a parachute for your character to glide with. The mechanics become annoying since flying in the air is pretty uncommon during gameplay, so you really don’t practice with it a lot.

The thing I did like about the game was that you can play a variety of characters and customize your main character, a Link like you could in the original breath of the wild game

The variety of characters and different move sets is what makes this game great, especially if you just want to play as the main character Link and no other character. With about 60 hours of game content, you definitely have a chance to play all the characters the game has to offer though.

I believe that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a great game that is worth buying since it is one of the best games to come out in the dull year of 2020.
