CCHS Students Favorite Colors

What are your favorite colors?

In my opinion, I believe colors express many things. I think colors are an important thing of life. Colors can express how you feel at certain times or just express your true characteristics/personality. We all use colors in our everyday lives, even at school or work.

In my fourth period class, I am doing a survey on what 50 CCHS students favorite colors are. I surveyed them at my high school in class. I conducted this survey by thinking of a question to write, asked my classmates three questions, checked how many people said yes they have a favorite color or not (tally chart), and then created a bar and pie graph to demonstrate what colors people said were their favorite. From the information from the tally chart I divided that by 50 students and that’s how I received my percents.

The most important findings I found out was that the 3 top colors were blue, purple, and red. I thought the top three colors might be black since its easy to wear, yellow because it brightens up peoples day, and white since everything looks good in white. Yellow is associated with joy, happiness, intellect, and energy. White is associated with light, goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity. Black is associated with power, elegance, formality, death, evil, and mystery. Blue is associated with depth and stability. It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven. Purple is associated with royalty. It symbolizes power, nobility, luxury, ambition, wisdom, dignity, independence, creativity, mystery, and magic.

Something I found interesting was that only two people couldn’t choose between all the colors. Usually, a lot of people can’t choose one color. Also, because black was chosen more than the brighter colors. Something that stood out to me was that blue was favored to someone, because he grew up as a kid to love Blue’s Clues.

A beautiful quote, “The color speaks for itself and is unique,” Stephanie Ma ’19 stated.

Some things I noticed in the facts regarding the results is that people prefer black because black matches the dressings of others. Blue reminds people of the beautiful sky, and of flowers. White looks clean to people, as in it brings everything out.

According to the polls I conducted, it is important because it shows what people think of some colors, and their feelings towards it. Colors can be expressed in any type of way which kind of makes it unique. Some colors can be favored by people because maybe they grew up as a kid to like it or just reminds them of someone special.
