Introduction

January 7,2015 the show Empire premiered for its first ever show. Out of 20 episodes every one has brought its audience more into it, to watch it the next week. Critics have named the season finale of season 2 the best episode of the year. Although the show talks about “The Streets,” it still has great values and learning processes for teens and adults. It is a great show for parents to interact with their teens and understand them better.

About The Cast

The show focuses on a musical family that started in the streets before being on broadway. Cookie lyon (Taraji P. Henson) was married to Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) a rising rapper. They were struggling to get noticed so they had to sell drugs in order to get some records sold. The police caught on to the Lyons and their drug selling so Cookie took the blame and served 17 years in prison. Cookie and Lucious had three children, the oldest was named Andre Lyon (Trai Byers) he was a focused young man and went to college and helped his parents company grow with his knowledge. The second oldest was named Jamal Lyon (Jussie Smollett), since he ever had feelings he knew he liked boys, but he still always had the gift of a beautiful voice. The youngest child name is Hakeem Lyon (Bryshere Y. Gray) he is strong resilient and doesn’t like the word no, he is good with the ladies and has a great rapping voice to.

Getting to know the minor characters

Anika Calhoun (Grace Gealey) was engaged to Lucious until cookie was released, then she became in a relationship with his son Hakeem. Rhonda Lyon (Kaitlin Doubleday) is married  to  Andre, and is pregnant with their first child. Porsha (Ta’Rhonda Jones) is Cookies assistant. Becky (Gabourey Sidibe) is Lucious’s assistant.

Season 2 Episode 10 The Finale 

Entering the season finale Lucious is trying to close out a deal with Swift Stream. While Lucious was closing this deal out Cookie was making a promotion for the prison system she was incarcerated in. She was going to have the two biggest stars in Lyon Dynasty which was Hakeem and his girlfriend Laura to perform there for the inmates and their kids on family day. During all of this Jamal was watching the award ceremony for the hottest new singers and rappers and with show barely starting he was already nominated for five out of seven of them. Lucious finished the deal with Swift Stream and was begging to get accused for false accusations, so a movement for Lucious to be removed as the CEO was in act. Since Cookie was still at the prison facility for the concert she sent Hakeem to vote for her. She told Hakeem “Empire is our family and anyone who tries to tear it down is our enemy.” Although Hakeem didn’t take that to well. His first love was one of the people trying to bring Lucious out of the company. When it came to voting time Hakeem was the only vote they needed to kick him out or let him stay in, so Hakeem voted for him to be kicked out and Lucious no longer ran Empire.

Why u should watch Season 3

In the next season there is going to be a lot more controversy between Lucious and Hakeem. Lucious is going to tend to not trust anyone not even the rest of his son’s. Cookie try’s to bring Lucious in on Lyon Dynasty so they can just start over and build their new Empire for them and their kids.
