Three powerful sisters really is a charm
“Charmed” is an all American supernatural television series that was aired in the year 1998. This show was about three sisters who were very powerful but had no clue they were even witches. When their parents died they had to take care of each other and when all the sisters found what they called “The book of shadows” the unleashed their powers who were only getting stronger and stronger by the day. By gaining their powers they had suddenly became the most wanted witches in the other world; this meant that now they had to stick together and fight of all the evil who were out to get them. This show is very interesting and entertaining because it has a lot of drama and action, two things that everybody seems to love.
Charmed is a very interesting and exciting show because of all the problems they have to face.

The main characters in “Charmed” are Holly Marie Combs who plays the role of Piper Halliwell, Alyssa Milano who plays as Phoebe Halliwell, and Shannen Doherty who plays the role of Prue Halliwell. Piper Halliwell is the middle child who has the power to freeze things and people, she is the one who’s the most mature and helps her two other sisters not fight. Phoebe Halliwell is the youngest child who has the power of being able to see what is going to happen in the future. Phoebe is a rebel who does not ever listen to her older sisters and does what she wants, she’s kind of the one who gets all the guys and is very thoughtless about everything. Finally, Prue Halliwell, the oldest sister who has the power to move things and people with her mind is the one that feels like she has to take care of her sisters and act like a parent not realizing that they are no longer babies; she shows everyone that she has no feelings and can take on whatever but really she is hurting on the inside that she had to take this responsibility of being in charge of her sisters and raising them after her parents died.
The minor characters vary on this series because every episode there are new minor characters who are all basically people that are trying to harm and kill the sisters. Later on in the series around the second season other minor characters appear on the show which end up being their boyfriends and later on husbands.
In the first episode the sisters don’t know they are witches until they find the book of shadows and read the first spell together out loud which activates their powers. At first they aren’t so happy about it because they now have realized that activating their powers means that evil is on the search for them to vanquish them. But towards the end of the show they learn and accept that having powers is not such a bad thing and they realize that now they don’t only have to protect themselves they also have to protect other people and good witches because they are the most powerful witches out of good and bad.
Part of the drama and action from this television show that makes it so interesting and entertaining is the way their problems are set up. For example, in the first episode Piper’s boyfriend who she has been dating for a long time turns out to be a warlock who was planning to vanquish them since the first day he got with Piper but he was waiting for them to activate their problems so that he could take them; together the sisters fight him and say a spell to defeat him becoming alert that they now have to be careful with anyone who tries to talk to them.
I recommend “Charmed” to teenagers and adults too because it’s a very interesting show and even though it’s fiction they also have some problems that could happen in real life as well.
