Whether you call it a soft drink, a carbonated beverage, pop, or something else, soda is a must have at parties and to quench thirst. The average American drinks about 45 gallons of soda per year. (No, not cans, GALLONS!) This is obviously a big reason why soda is a billion dollar industry. One of the most well- liked soda brands, Coca-Cola, is worth Red bull, Budweiser, Starbucks, and Pepsi brands put together! In a survey of 100 Chavez students, Pepsi was the overall favorite with 27 votes in favor of it. Sydnee Henderson ’16 went against the grain and was the only student to pick grape soda as their favorite. She said, “Grape is my favorite because it’s the sweetest one and I’ve been drinking it since I was little.” Other popular choices among the students were Sprite, strawberry, and orange. It is nearly impossible not to be bombarded with soda advertisements on billboards and TV commercials, so the sweet treat is becoming as enticing as ever. For this reason, I have to ask:
