Volleyball is a game usually of six players, in which a large ball is hit by hand over a high net. The aim being to score points by making the ball reach the ground on the opponent’s side of the court.

This fall senior Sunny Moua has returned to play for the varsity volleyball team this season. Moua has been playing volleyball in high school for all four years. She and her teammates have practice after school for two hours long every day. Her team’s goal for this season is to maintain their leadership and academics, but Moua has her own goal to succeed this season.

“Becoming a good leader and get as much assist that I can,” Moua explained.

This season Moua’s position in volleyball is a setter. A setter is like a point guard in basketball or a quarterback in football. The setter is in charge of the offense and decides who should get the ball and when. The setter is a very important position in volleyball. Moua always focus on who gets the ball in the match they are playing in. Moua always communicates with her teammates to make sure they knows the play and they will run and what set they will hit in the match. Her and her team has a strong point in their match.

“Fixing and supporting each other’s mistakes,” Moua said.
