Most Influential Hard Rock Bands – Queen

Formed in 1970, Queen is a British rock band consisting of members: Brian May and Roger Taylor. There used be four in total. Freddie Mercury and John Deacon were the other half that made up this fantastic band.

The reason why there is only two left is quite simple. On November 23, 1991, Mercury confirmed that he had AIDS, after a long time of speculations by friends and fans. Less than 24 hours later, he died of bronchial pneumonia, which was brought on by complication of AIDS. John Deacon chose to retire in January 1997, on the second time Queen had played live since Mercury’s death.

In their earliest work, Queen was heavily influenced by progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal, but the band drifted towards more of a diverse style of hard rock.
