Celeste Marie Jones

Celeste Marie Jones was killed April 16, 2014. Eighteen-years-old and a senior at Cesar Chavez High School, Celeste and three friends were hit by a suspected drunk driver. Celeste, Aleah Traylor, Brina Ieremia, and Ebone Jacko were in Brina’s car traveling southbound on Pacific Avenue when they were hit by a car the sped through the intersection of Swain and Pacific. Aleah and Ebone were ejected from the vehicle due to the force of impact and were pronounced dead at the scene. Celeste and Brina were rushed to a near by hospital and taken into emergency surgery but never showed signs of brain activity. Celeste’s parents declared that Celeste’s organs would be harvested and donated to save lives.

Celeste was an active member of AVID, CAST Club and enjoyed playing volleyball.

Celeste had plans of attending college in the fall and majoring in kinesiology with hopes of becoming a physical therapist.

Celeste is survived by her parents Thomas and Carrie Jones, siblings Sonya Jones, Thomas Jones III and Ciera Wilson and grandparents Cheryl Bishop and Kathleen Jones.

A memorial service for the four girls will be held at Cesar Chavez High School on April 25, 2014, at 2:00 p.m.

Celeste will be remembered for her giving and caring nature. She will be loved and missed by everyone who knew her.
