The U.S. First Amendment

The United States Of America guarantees These five rights in the first amendment , Freedom of speech , Freedom of the press , Freedom of religion , Freedom to assemble and Freedom to petition. The first amendment is a right fought by many students.

In court case Bethel School District v. Fraser ,  Matthew Fraser was suspended from school for making a speech full of sexual remarks .”I know a man who is firm – he’s firm in his pants, he’s firm in his shirt, his character is firm – but most [of] all, his belief in you the students of Bethel, is firm. Jeff Kuhlman is a man who takes his point and pounds it in. If necessary, he’ll take an issue and nail it to the wall. He doesn’t attack things in spurts – he drives hard, pushing and pushing until finally – he succeeds. Jeff is a man who will go to the very end – even the climax, for each and every one of you. So please vote for Jeff Kuhlman, as he’ll never come [long pause] between us and the best our school can be. He is firm enough to give it everything.”

The school district appealed to the United States District Court. The school lost , so they took it to the Supreme Court where the school district won. He was found to be in violation of disruptive behavior and an offensive speech .

Arkansas high school administration censors yearbook profile of a gay student . The student Taylor Ellis was perfectly fine with it being on the yearbook. The principle of that high school thought it was to personal so he took it down.

Burner the publisher said,  ” I personally do not think there is any risk of posting that everyone at the school already know its not a secret.”

The principal was found in violation the students rights and asked to not do it again.

Even the KKK have the right to freedom of speech as it says in the first amendment. The cops were protecting them in there protest against gay marriage .

In the documentary “Live Free” the KKK were protesting and were secured by the police. Even as none Americans we still have rights and that includes the first amendment.
