“Staplers are better than paper clips because they keep papers secure,” said Anthony Saly, Senior
Staplers are amazing tools. We use them all the time and see them everywhere. The stapler used to keep papers together. The first handmade stapler according to history was in France, 18th century, by King Louis XV. Each of his staplers had his family crest engraved into them so those who received his letters, knew they were from the King. he stapler was later improved. The first time it was improved by George McGill in 1866. In 1879, George was announced the first commercially successful stapler. The second time it was improved by Henry R. Heyl in 1877. Some say he was the real inventor of the modern day stapler.
“I feel like they’re a pleasant way to neatly organize and put papers together,” said Adriana Preciado, Senior
Before you use a stapler you have to make sure that it’s working and that you have staples in it. First you open up the top and place a pack of staples inside. Take the papers you would like to put together and place it in between the metal part and the bottom. Make sure there is 1cm of paper on either side of where the staple will be placed. If the papers are not aligned correctly, then the stapling will have to be unpicked and done again; This will end up leaving a line of holes in yout paper if you were not stapling right. Next, press down on top of the stapler until you here a “click” sound. Check to see if your papers are stapled together and you’re good to go!
“Staplers are very important! We wouldn’t be able to keep papers in order. We need staplers,” said Andrelyn Petate, Senior
It’s very important to always keep things together and organized. How are you going to go through things when they’re all over the place? This is why we have staplers. Our papers and belongings need to be put together and neatly in place. Staplers help us do that. With the work of a stapler, our papers will stay together.
“If we didn’t have staplers, out papers would be all over the place,” said Adrian Morales, Senior
Life without staplers would be like life without organization. King Louis XV created a magnificent invention and made our lives a whole lot easier. We would not be able to stay organized and keep things in order. Papers would be all over and we would probably end up losing all of our stuff! Disorganized papers and belongings can lead to a disorganized lifestyle, which is something you wouldn’t want. We want to keep everything properly in place and the stapler is the right tool for the job!
