Chris Paul is a point guard for the NBA who plays for the Los Angeles Clippers. Chris Paul was born and raised in Louisville, North Carolina and was born as the second child in the family two years after his older brother CJ.

His dad was in athletic too he taught Chris and his older brother Cj the games of basketball and football.
During the summer chris and his brother spent some of there time at there grandpas tire shop operating the cash register, changing air filters, and rotating tires. Chris was very close to his grandpa he called him “his best friend” and credits many life lessons to him and also thanks him for everything he has taught him.
When Chris Paul got to high school he played basketball, despite his talent he had a really big disadvantage due to his height he was only 5’0 feet tall. Chris decided to play on the JV team his freshman and sophomore years, thinking that the opportunity to gain confidence and experience on the JV team would be better than sitting on the bench on varsity team.
By the time he was a junior he had a 10 inch growth spurt and was 5’10 averaging 25 points per game , 5.6 assist per game, and 4.4 steals per game. Helping his team reach the state semifinals. By the next summer he was rated one of the top point guards of the state and signed a full scholarship to nearby Wake Forest University.
“He was a beast when he was in high school” said Manuel Delatorre
A day after he signed to Wake Forest his grandfather was murdered. Right after Chris got the news he rushed to his grandfathers and all he wanted to do was see him but all the police that were there wouldn’t let him. Chris’s grandpa was beaten to death by 5 teenagers . While he was unloading groceries from his car in his driveway the teenagers grabbed him tied his hands behind his back and beat him to death. Chris dropped down in tears and even felt like the person that most motivated him was taking from his heart . An emotionally devastated Paul scored 61 points in honor of his grandfather, one point for every year his grandfather lived, in West Forsyth’s first game of the 2002–03 season.
Despite Chris’s previous career high being 39 points, by halftime, he had 32 points. When Paul reached the 61-point mark late in the game he purposely air balled a free throw, then took himself out of the game to hug his family on the sidelines.
“He really loves his grandpa because he did all that for him” said Devonte Harrel
Chris went on to play in college after his 2 year in college he declared to join the NBA draft in 2006. He was selected in the 4 pick by the New Orleans Hornets he won the rookie of the year and is an 5x NBA Allstar. He took the hornets to the playoffs 3 times . He was recently traded to a better team witch are the Los Angeles Clippers to have a better chance of winning a NBA championship.
” Now that Chris Paul is in a better team he’s definatly going to cause some damage in the playoffs” said Mack Harris
