Every 15 minutes Daniel Taylor

The every 15 minutes program is a two day event on high school is for  juniors and seniors, to think about drinking, driving, personal safety, the responsibility of making mature decisions, and the impact their decisions have on family, friends, and many others. Our School was involved in this event. I interviewed Daniel Taylor who was a living dead.

Daniel Taylor passed away due to a DUI accident, the day before his birthday. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Daniel Taylor had the role as “Living Dead” in the every 15 minuets and his character was born March 4, 1998 and died the day before his birthday. What caused Daniel’s death was a D.U.I. accident.

When I asked Daniel what was his experience and if he enjoyed being apart of this program he replied,

“It kind of brought out a side of people that you have never seen before. It seemed so real, to the point where i was actually visualizing my family and friends suffering from his death.” I asked if Daniel had learned any lessons from the program and he replied with, “You don’t realize how much lives actually matter until something actually happens.”

The students become one of the “Living dead” where they were not allowed to talk to friends or family for two days. This powerful program was designed to create an awareness among students that they are not invincible. They experience how what they do can affect the lives of so many other people

Over all this program is to inspire people to make right decisions and the best way to teach them and convince them is to show them what can and will happen, if they aren’t acting responsibly. This program only uses teens so they can experience this from the inside the action. The teens involved experienced the sad tragedy  and hopefully won’t make one of their own.
